Holme Education

Hands on Nature Learning for Curious Minds

I am an experienced educator and community leader with over two decades of teaching, curriculum design, and youth development behind me. Before founding Holme Grown Eastby CIC, I spent many years teaching across age groups up to A‑Level, leading departments, and working in an educational charity designing high‑quality learning experiences that helped young people build confidence, curiosity, and independence. My career has taken me from classroom teaching to developing national educational programmes, always with a focus on meaningful, engaging learning that helps children thrive.

At Holme Grown Eastby, I bring this deep teaching experience into a new and inspiring context: hands‑on, nature‑based education centred around growing vegetables sustainably, nurturing flowers, and encouraging wildlife and biodiversity. Having built this community venture from the ground up, I’ve created a welcoming environment where children learn through doing, exploring sustainability, food growing, ecosystems and wellbeing in ways that feel natural, joyful and purposeful.

I am creating thoughtful, structured sessions for home‑educated children, combining practical outdoor activities with well‑planned curriculum links. I always bring my warmth, clarity, and ability to meet each child where they are, skills I’ve refined across years of teaching, pastoral leadership, charity and community work. The sessions I offer go far beyond gardening: they help children develop confidence, connect with nature, and build real‑world understanding that supports their home learning.

I’m passionate, knowledgeable, and deeply committed to helping children grow – in nature, in their learning, and in themselves.

You can find more details of the sessions on offer here.
