Family Zone@Holme Grown

We are creating a safe, fenced, space on site, specifically for families with young children. 

The aim is to allow people to come up to the site without worrying about skill level or only being able to do a little bit and then:

  • Enjoy the benefits of growing in a beautiful setting – being outside in nature makes everyone feel better
  • Enjoy the connections that being with people brings
  • Enjoy a space for young children to safely mess about in nature – dig soil, pour water, plant seeds.
  • Learn a bit about growing – gain advice from our volunteers and just try growing things.  Some stuff will thrive, some won’t survive – but it’s the act of giving things a go that is fun.
  • Help children understand where food comes from.
  • Take home some of what you’ve grown.

This zone will work on the basis that many hands make light work and it will be those involved who can frame the direction it takes.

Everyone involved can enjoy some of the harvest.
