Our Community Orchard is 3 years old now.  Two years ago, we invited locals to sponsor trees and 25 were planted in early 2024.  This year, we enjoyed apples for the first time – maybe it was the Wassailing event that blessed the trees…. We have just created a new wildflower meadow area amongst the orchard, and are hoping to plant some more fruit trees – particularly plums.

Our community orchard is something that everyone can enjoy.  We hope, in the not too distant future, to be able to host some apple themed events, such as village juicing.  There were a lot of surplus apples around the village this year – with a communal juicer, we could all share in the harvest.

Our scheme allows you to support our plot, and feel a sense of connection.  We keep a record of who has sponsored which tree, and you are welcome to come up to the plot and watch it grow, when we are open.

We will ask for a £50 donation, and we will purchase the tree, supports, ties etc.  We will advertise our planting day, which you are welcome to be part of – If you are unable to make it, our volunteers can plant on your behalf.  You will also be invited to our Wassailing Ceremony in January/February.
